Shipping & Pickup Policy
We want to make sure getting your yarn, needles, and tools into your hands is as smooth and affordable as possible. All orders are shipped through Canada Post, and we have a few different options depending on what you are ordering and where you live.
Please take a look at our shipping tiers and store policies below before placing your order.
Standard Tracked Shipping Rates
Standard shipping includes full tracking so you can follow your package every step of the way. You will receive a separate email with your tracking number as soon as your order leaves our shop.
- Shipping within Newfoundland & Labrador: $19.99 Flat Rate
- Shipping to the Rest of Canada: $25.00 Flat Rate
- Orders Over $200.00: FREE Shipping, Canada-wide

Economy Needle & Notions Shipping
We don't want high shipping costs to stand between you and a single needle or pattern booklet. To keep your smaller tool top-ups affordable, we offer a budget-friendly, Economy Shipping option.
The Guidelines:
- Eligibility: Available for small orders with a subtotal of $45.00 or less, up to a maximum of 3 individual items.
- What Qualifies: Most needles and hooks, flat notions, and some printed pattern booklets.
- Bulky Exclusions: Items that do not fit into a standard flat mail slot (such as yarn, books, full interchangeable needle sets, or dimensional notions like Cocoknits) are excluded and must ship via our Standard Tracked rates.
Unsure if your items will fit the economy mailer? We are happy to check for you! Please contact us before placing your order to confirm if your items qualify.
Processing Note:
If you select this shipping method and your items do not meet the criteria (e.g., your cart contains bulky items or exceeds the $45 max or 3-item limit), your order will be placed on hold. You will be contacted by our team to upgrade your order to standard tracked shipping before it can be dispatched.
Please Note (Customer Choice & Risk):
To keep this rate at just $5.00, your items will be sent via Letter Mail. This option does not include tracking. It is selected entirely at the customer’s choice and risk. Cast On! Cast Off! cannot provide location updates, refunds, or replacements for economy shipments that are lost, delayed, or stolen in transit. If you are purchasing premium needles like ChiaoGoo or prefer absolute peace of mind for your order, we highly recommend choosing our Standard Tracked Shipping at checkout.
Free In-Store Pickup
If you are local or visiting the area, you are always welcome to skip the shipping fees entirely and pick up your order directly from the shop!
- Order Readiness: You will receive a separate email notification as soon as your order is ready for pickup. Please wait for this confirmation email before coming to the shop
Pickup Window: Orders can only be picked up during our regularly scheduled business hours.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I track my order if I choose the $5.00 shipping option?
No, the $5.00 economy tier uses regular lettermail to keep costs low, which does not include a tracking number. If you need to see where your package is, please choose our Standard Tracked Shipping option at checkout.
How long does the $5.00 Economy Shipping take to arrive?
Because it travels via standard lettermail, delivery times vary depending on Canada Post volumes, ferry schedules, and regional weather. Typically, envelopes arrive within 5 to 20 business days
What happens if my untracked economy package goes missing?
By selecting the economy option, you accept full financial responsibility for the delivery. Because it is untracked, we cannot investigate its location, issue refunds, or send out replacements. For premium tools like ChiaoGoo needles, please consider upgrading to tracked shipping if you aren't comfortable with that risk.
What is your return policy?
