Weekend Knitting Retreat: Winsor House St. John's NL, October 26-27, 2024

Package includes:

• Please note, this retreat package is being offered for those who reserve to stay as guests with Winsor House for the weekend of 26-27 October.  
• Lunch Saturday October 26^th
• Made to order breakfast Sunday October 27^th
• Light refreshments throughout
• Two skeins of Briggs & Little Regal wool (your choice of colour)
• Two skeins of Turtlepurl merino/nylon blend self-striping sock fingering wool (your choice of 3 different colourways - The Brew OR Bewitching)
• Pop up shop market hosted by ‘Cast On! Cast Off!’
• Comfortable, intimate group setting limited to only 8 which allows for more personal assistance.
• The group surroundings will be held in the gorgeous historical setting of Winsor House conveniently located in downtown St. John’s NL.  
• We will be shipping all your wool in advance so you can practice before the retreat.  **Please select "in store shipping" to by pass shipping expenses.
• Two cakes of Briggs and Little Regal wool will be caked up and shipped to you, so you are ready to commence when we meet.  There will be some homework so you can practice the provisional cast on or want to get a head start before the retreat weekend. 
• When you choose your Briggs and Little Regal colours, please choose two of the same colours.  Each cake speaks to one single sock.  The wool is plentiful – you will have more than enough to knit two pairs of adult socks.

What’s not included:

• One nights’ accommodation (check in Saturday, check out Sunday).  All rooms have ensuites and are bright, modern, and spotlessly clean. • Meet & Greet Dinner meal, Friday October 25^th.  We will gather at The Postmaster’s Bakery, 134 Military Road, St. John’s NL (https://postmastersbakery.com/)

• Two at a Time Sock Pattern.  This pattern is written for worsted weight and fingering for child, female and male sizes. (download here from Ravelry HERE) 
• Needles & Notions (40” circulars 4.5mm, darning needle, crochet hook size G or H)

About the Pattern:

• We will be working on the first part of the pattern which calls for working the socks using a worsted weight wool/yarn.  This is the ideal method to start with when learning to knit two at a time and using the magic loop method.  The second part of the pattern works with fingering/sock weight.  At your own leisure you will be able to use the Turtlepurl wool from this package to knit from this part of the pattern.
• You do not need to know how to crochet.  The pattern begins with a provisional cast on which requires a crochet hook.  This will be the only time you need to use the crochet hook. 
• Two cakes of Briggs and Little Regal wool will be caked up and shipped to you, so you are ready to commence when we meet.  There will be some homework so you can practice the provisional cast on or want to get a head start before the retreat weekend.
